The event of the 100th Eccleshill Horticultural Society annual show saw the notable continuation of a dying tradition.
This committed and stoic group proudly continue the tradition that stretches back to when societies such as this were more commonplace and patronised. And also harks back to a time when cities such as Bradford, where Eccleshill is located, were flourishing through industrial growth and consequent prosperity.
I was commissioned by the local newspaper, the Bradford Telegraph & Argus, to record this event. And as always, I found an interesting and wonderful mix of people working hard to bring about something rather wonderful.
Always a pleasure to meet such lovely people and experience community events of this kind.
